The 24206A Cam Phaser Lockout Pair is used to eliminate the knocking associated with the Cam Phaser in 3 Valve 5.4 and 4.6 engines. Cam phasers on these engines are known to suffer from wear and tear, due to movement within the phaser's internal components, which may lead to failure of the phasers. The 24206A Cam Phaser Lockout Pair locks the internals of the phaser and in doing so prevents movement and the associated knocking noise caused by this movement. This is a permanent fix for this problem.
